Alison Doody

Alison Doody has been an Irish model and actor since November 11, 1996. After making her feature film debut with a small part in Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she went on to play Nazi-sympathising archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Siobhan was in A Prayer for the Dying, Charlotte in Taffin and Rebecca Flannery Major League II. Doody began modelling after being offered by a professional photographer. This led to a successful professional career as a model for commercials. Doody was adamantly against glamour and nude work a clause which allowed her to pursue an acting career. When she was spotted by the casting director for an upcoming James Bond movie, she took a part of A View to a Kill as Jenny Flex. Doody was named one of the 12 most promising young actors in the year 1986 in John Willis Screen World. 38. Doody had just turned age 18 when she took on the role as a Bond girl. She remains the youngest Bondgirl to date. A Prayer for the Dying (1997), starring Mickey Rourke, also featured a smaller role as IRA Siobhan. Doody was Archibald Craven's wife Lilias, in his dream in the television adaptation The Secret Garden. The Storyteller episode from 1988 was her first appearance in the main part in the film Sapsorrow, alongside John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. The year 1988 was the first time she played alongside Pierce Brosnan on the movie Taffin. The most memorable performance to date was her role as Austrian Nazi sympathizer as well as archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider opposite Harrison Ford in the 1989 film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody has been in three films with James Bond actors. Doody played co-starring in 1991 with Jonathan Pryce opposite the British miniseries Selling Hitler, which was an inspiration for the book fraud known as The Hitler Diaries. She later moved to Hollywood. She was chosen to succeed Cybill Shepherd as spokesperson for L'Oreal she went on to perform alongside Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II as Flannery his agent and girlfriend. Doody, who had been off acting for more than 10 years, came back 2003 to take on a tiny role on The Actors, a British comedy The Actors in which Michael Caine appeared as her in a scene during an awards ceremony. Doody was a co-star, along with Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film version of King Solomon's Mines. Doody was part of Danny Dyer's The Rapture (2009). The following year, she had been scheduled scheduled to play the lead role on The Asphyx remake, but that project fell through. Pam Jefferson, the character she played in E4's comedy Beaver Falls during its first season that ran for two years. She appeared in We Still Kill the Old Way (2014). On 21 November 2018 she was awarded by the Almeria Tierra de Cine award and was awarded a star in Almeria Walk of Fame.
